Students will be introduced to Extreme Network’s network access control solution, ExtremeControl. Students will learn methods to properly install and configure their ExtremeControl
engines. Use cases and deployments for ExtremeControl within different network models are also discussed. The primary ExtremeControl use case covered in this course is visibility of end-systems with Passive and Pass-Through Modes. Components of authentication to include proxying RADIUS are discussed. Students will have these concepts reinforced with hands-on lab experience installing ExtremeControl into a preconfigured network.
This course is designed as the first step for individuals responsible for the installation and the configuration of ExtremeControl.
The associate level certification exam is a mandatory prerequisite and must be completed prior to attending the ExtremeControl – Installation and Configuration class. Students should possess an understanding of network fundamentals, and general network management concepts, as well as network security concepts and technologies.
