Students will be introduced to network management and visibility using the Extreme Networks management tool, Extreme Cloud IQ-Site Engine (XIQ-SE). Using the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Network Management Model (NMM), students have these concepts reinforced with a hands-on lab experience working with a pre-configured network. Students will perform real world tasks around the areas of installation and basic configuration of XIQ-SE. Network visibility of devices and device configuration tools are discussed.
This course is designed as the first step for individuals responsible for the installation and the configuration of the ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine.
This course is a mandatory prerequisite for all XIQ-SE courses. The XIQ-SE courses are recommended to be taken in the following order: Installation and Configuration, Management, Advanced Configuration, and Troubleshooting. Students should possess an understanding of network fundamentals, and general network management concepts, as well as network security concepts and technologies. In addition, Extreme Networks recommends the following courses prior to enrolling in the XIQ-SE courses:
• Campus Switching
• Extreme Cloud IQ – Controller (formerly Extreme Campus Controller (XCC)) or Wireless Core
