EXTREME SWITCHING
Management
Online session
This course is aimed at individuals responsible for the management of the Extreme Networks family of ExtremeXOS/ SwitchEngine switches.
This course is aimed at individuals responsible for the management of the Extreme Networks family of ExtremeXOS/ SwitchEngine switches.
This course provides an in depth review of Extreme Networks’ Fabric Connect advanced features for integrating SPBM with other protocols and solution requirements. You will learn how Fabric Attach signaling is used to provision services at the edge and how expand the campus configuration by implementing Fabric Extend and Multi-Area SPBM. Redistributing routes from outside protocols into IS-IS is discussed with route policies. You’ll also learn about how DvR provides Default Gateway Redundancy and optimizes traffic flows. Lectures are supported with hands-on configuration of VSPs, Universal Hardware 5520, ERS, and EXOS.
You will learn how to troubleshoot wireless networks using ExtremeCloud IQ. This knowledge is reinforced through handson experience with networking equipment in a lab environment, where you will perform real world tasks. The class is a fast paced, fault-based scenario lab which immerses the student in real life situations requiring fault diagnosis and remedial actions. It provides students with the information and skills necessary to troubleshoot common WLAN issues using ExtremeCloud IQ tools and networking solutions.
Extreme Certified Professional exam for Extreme Switching technology.
Extreme Networks’ Fabric Connect is an advanced, reliable, high performance network solution. This training course will review the technologies that support the fabric operation and services highlighting their proper operation and ways to determine misconfiguration. Identifying problems at network Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 and discussed along with how to troubleshoot fabric service issues. Lectures are supported equally with hands-on troubleshooting activities on VSPs, Universal Hardware 5520, ERS, and EXOS.
Students will be introduced to Extreme Network’s network access control solution, ExtremeControl. Students will learn methods to properly install and configure their ExtremeControl engines. Use cases and deployments for ExtremeControl within different network models are also discussed. The primary ExtremeControl use case covered in this course is visibility of end-systems with Passive and Pass-Through Modes. Components of authentication to include proxying RADIUS are discussed. Students will have these concepts reinforced with hands-on lab experience installing ExtremeControl into a preconfigured network.
Students will learn to properly manage their ExtremeControl engine. Students will also deep dive into the ExtremeControl rules engine and learn to manipulate network end-systems with authorization. Extreme Policy components and structure will be looked at, as well as integration with ExtremeControl. For students without Extreme Policy capable devices, ExtremeControl policy mappings will be examined to maximize ExtremeControl’s capabilities throughout a multi-vender network. ExtremeControl integration with ExtremeAnalytics and ExtremeCloud™ IQ will also be demonstrated. Students will have these concepts reinforced with hands-on lab experience managing ExtremeControl in a preconfigured network.
Students will learn to configure the ExtremeControl Portal to include Portal Administration, Guest Registration, and Authenticated Registration. Students will also be introduced to ExtremeControl Workflows built into ExtremeCloud™ IQ - Site Engine and well as ExtremeControl Notifications for automations. ExtremeControl integration with Extreme Connect and introduction to ExtremeControl APIs is also examined. Students will have these concepts reinforced with hands-on lab experience managing ExtremeControl in a preconfigured network.
This course is aimed at individuals responsible for the management of the Extreme Networks family of ExtremeXOS/ SwitchEngine switches.
Students will learn methods to enhance their existing switching and routing environment with security, traffic optimization, automation, and integration features. Several network management tasks will be exercised. This knowledge will be reinforced through actual hands-on experience with networking equipment in a lab environment, where students will perform real world tasks.
Students will learn troubleshooting methodology as well as the troubleshooting toolkit available to Network Engineers and ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine Administrators. This knowledge will be reinforced through actual hands-on experience with networking equipment in a lab environment, where students will perform real world tasks.
To deploy Extreme Networks’ Fabric Connect is the goal of the course. Students experience the deployment process from the beginning to completion learning all the essential steps and technologies. Lectures are supported equally with hands-on experience on VSPs, Universal Hardware 5520, ERS, and EXOS. Successful completion results in an operational SPBM fabric with L2VSN, L3VsN, IP Shortcuts, Fabric Attach and VIST Core Switch Pair.
