January is only halfway through, and we’ve already had our third Extreme Networks technology bootcamp this year. This time, the event took place in picturesque Oslo, which, despite the frosty weather, enchanted with its winter atmosphere and street decorations.
Organizers and Participants
The bootcamp was organized by Netsecurity, a long-standing partner of Versim ATP – Extreme Networks authorized training center. The event brought together Netsecurity employees and their clients for a five-day program focused on Extreme Fabric Connect technology. The agenda covered three key areas: installation & configuration, management, and advanced configuration, providing participants with comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge essential for working with this cutting-edge technology.
Agenda and key topics
The bootcamp was led by Konrad Grzybowski, an experienced trainer and expert in Extreme Fabric Connect technology. Over the course of five intensive days, the engineers delved into topics such as:
VSP Switch Management
Fabric Edge and Auto-sense
vIST Core Switch Pair
Fabric Attach
ExtremeCloud™ IQ Management
ExtremeCloud™ IQ-SE Management
Distributed Virtual Routing (DvR)
Multi-Area SPB
IP Routing Policies
Fabric Extend (FE)
Fabric over SD-WAN
End Point Tracking.
The program was intensive and demanding, but thanks to the experienced trainer conducting the training and the use of practical tasks, each participant was able to thoroughly learn the technology that is crucial for modern corporate networks.
Impressions from Oslo: frosty weather and norwegian attractions
Our trainer Konrad Grzybowski, summing up the training, drew attention to several specific aspects of his stay in Oslo. The frost, which remained at -10°C to -15°C, and the short day were a real challenge, but also elements that emphasized the Scandinavian atmosphere. He also remembered the ubiquitous Teslas on the streets – Norway is one of the leaders in popularizing electric cars. He also mentioned sledging and the training of young ski jumpers, which he had the opportunity to see.
Frosty Norway showed that training can combine professionalism, learning and unforgettable experiences. Will the next trips provide equally interesting stories? Time will tell! We are eagerly awaiting the next projects.
